Strathclyde University asked us to develop a low cost solution to increase the number of quality applications from international students looking to study an MBA with the Business School.
Our solution was to work with them to establish which countries previously made the highest successful applications and focus on them. By recruiting and employing master bloggers from the existing international student base, training and supporting them in setting up and maintaining blogs about their life and study at the university we were able to get a real voice for the University on a global platform. We used Facebook and social networking platforms popular in each target location and ensured that each blog and profile was optomised for the chosen key words. We also designed a series of rich media banner adverts and placed them on educational websites popular with the target audience in each country.
The result was not a dramatic increase in the volume of applications, but a dramatic increase in the quality of applications, and ultimately we successfully filled the course.
